Employment

An employment application may be turned in at any time and will be kept on file at the library for a period of one year and considered if any openings become available. A resume may be submitted instead of this application.  You may submit an application in person or via email.

The Drake Community Library staff includes these basic positions:

Library Page: Generally held by students who work 10-15 hrs/wk, pages help with shelving of materials, process new materials, and perform basic customer service duties.

Circulation Clerk: A part time, adult position. Circulation clerks cover the main desk and offer circulation and customer service duties. Mainly evening and weekend hours. A high school diploma or G.E.D. is required.

Library Assistant: Permanent, generally part-time employees  who perform all public service duties as well as specific support duties.  A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.

Professional Staff: Full-time staff who have an advanced degree or training in library and information services.
