Register any time during the summer and receive a free pen. Your first completed reading card earns a ticket to the Pool Party on July 29. Each additional card turned in earns a free book. The last day to turn in reading cards is August 23. Each completed reading card will be entered into the end-of-summer drawing on August 23. We will give away two $50 Amazon gift cards, three $25 gift certificates from Grinnell College’s Pioneer Bookshop, five $10 gift certificates to Saints Rest, three $10 gift cards to The Fix, and three $10 gift cards to Candyland Station.

Share and collaborate on coding projects in programs like Unity and Scratch. Learn coding tips from college students. For all levels, beginner and up. Bring your own laptop. Come to any one session or come to all of them!

The Large Group Study Room has been transformed by the Teen Advisory Group into a teen activity center. Come and play board games, code with friends and make stuff. Crafts will include duct tape and DIY materials to decorate notebooks and planners.

Have you heard the saying, “You are what you eat?” While eating a carrot won’t turn you into a carrot, it will give you all the great nutrients in a carrot which allows your entire body to function better. At this class, we’ll examine the nutrients our bodies need and see how we can get these nutrients from food that is also delicious. Come hungry!
Sole Hope: Shoes for Uganda

Children in Uganda need shoes to protect their feet from painful infections caused by parasites in the soil. Help cut up blue jeans to send to shoemakers in Uganda to make shoes for these children.
Sit ‘n’ Knit at the Library

Join local knitters as they share their skills. No knitting experience needed. All materials will be provided. If you already have a project, bring it!

Drop In and Draw
Drawing is a great way to see and understand a work of art. Children and adults are welcome to spend time in the gallery drawing from our exhibition, On the Bright Side. Stools, drawing supplies, and feedback will be provided.
